A
recent two-day software testing job fair in
Chennai proved a right choice for most of the
1,700 participants who were on the look-out of
career opportunities.
The fair was organised by STC V-Serve, a
city-based software testing staffing company.
About 50 per cent of the participants were from
STC Technologies. Both freshers and experienced
candidates attended interviews with major IT
companies such as Honeywell, SIFY and Lionbridge.
Candidates from other cities such as Tiruchi,
Bangalore and Madurai also participated. The
entry was free for all participants. Madhu
Saran, managing director, STC V-Serve, said
about 80 per cent of the candidates were
short-listed for recruitment and were undergoing
third level interviews.
The fair provided job opportunities from
software testing engineers at entry level for
freshers, and software leads to software
managers.
Candidates who were seeking to switch over
careers from software developing also
participated, she said.
